The Hearst Foundation Seminar Room Dedication Ceremony
On November 12, Levin Institute dedicated its 2nd Floor Seminar Room (Room 202) as the Hearst Foundation Seminar Room, in gratitude for the generosity of the William Randolph Hearst Foundation, which provided an earlier capital gift of $250,000 to the Levin Institute. Mr. Paul “Dino” Dinowitz, the Chief Executive Officer of the Hearst Foundation, was joined by Mr. Mason Granger, the Director of the Foundation’s New York Office in a brief ribbon-cutting celebration with President Garrick Utley. Levin Board Member Matt Nimetz also joined the dedication, along with the Levin staff team. Mr. Utley expressed the sincere appreciation of the Levin team for this generous and early support. Mr. Nimetz represented the Levin Board in thanking Mr. Dinowitz, and noting the personal involvement of Board Chairman Paul Tagliabue in approaching the Hearst Foundation through its then Chairman Victor Ganzi. Mr. Dinowitz toured the Institute, and was very impressed with his first visit, looking forward to further opportunities for interaction in the future. He noted the importance of education to the Foundation. Personally, he also expressed interest in Levin’s ambitions in the media area.
