The Levin Institute
Academics Offerings Research Faculty and Fellows Partnerships and Collaborations

Academics Overview:

The State University of New York’s Levin Institute offers a wide variety of academic programs focused on skills for a global world, but we are not your typical university campus. We partner with schools and organizations around New York State and the world to provide unique, globally focused, and superior quality programs. We operate out of the SUNY Global Center located in the heart of Manhattan and offer our programs that take place both within New York City and within our partner campuses.

Our philosophy is to use a mix of SUNY Faculty, non-SUNY Professors and experienced practitioners with proven teaching experience to provide our students with relevant and practical knowledge for a global world. The programs we offer directly align with the Levin Institute’s mission to provide knowledge.

Our faculty gives our students the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary for cross-cultural literacy, global affairs, and leadership in line with the pillars of education.

Our students are a geographic and culturally diverse group that gain knowledge and skills from our programs, but also build their networks of contacts and gain insight into each other’s unique perspectives. Many of our students hail from our partner SUNY campuses or our other partnership universities.   International representation in our programs includes Lebanon, Mexico, Korea, China, Venezuela, South Africa, Germany, Iran, Peru, and more.

Our connection with SUNY: The SUNY Levin Institute is a part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system administration offices. SUNY Levin Institute serves many of SUNY’s 64 campuses across the state. Though we do not offer degree programs or give credit from our programs, we often partner with schools and universities that do offer credit as a part of the program offering. In the heart of Manhattan, some would say that we are SUNY’s connection to NYC and the world.

Academic initiatives and campus collaborations are lead by Dr. Maryalice Mazzara. If you are interested in fostering a collaboration or partnership with us, please contact us.
